About this site
“Live in each season as it passes; breathe the air, drink the drink, taste the fruit, and resign yourself to the influence of the earth.”
― Henry David Thoreau, Walden

All of my life, nature has been the consistant path that always makes everything real. I've studied; at college, grad school, herb school, tea school, and a buddhist monastery. For all the studies, and I do treasure them, planting in the garden, or walking in the mountains has taught me the most.

Learning the way of tea and writing poetry and art are all places where I also learn to be part of the natural world. The name crimson bark is a poetic name to bring plants, art, poetry and tea together.

This site is a place to roam wildly in nature, taste it, walk it, and explore it, and then go outside and be it.

In a boat, in the Adirondack mountains, under a white cedar tree, at the end of the day soaking in the sun and energy of the magnificent tree.
